Summary of Experience
Ms. Margaret A. Ganse is the President of the firm and its sole share holder. She is a geological engineer with nearly 20 years of experience designing, managing, and performing geotechnical and tunneling projects throughout North America. Ms. Ganse started her professional career in banking, but the lure of geology and engineering coaxed her away from banking into the field of geotechnical and tunnel engineering. Throughout her career, Ms. Ganse worked with national consulting firms gaining experience and expertise in a wide variety of tunneling methods. Her experience has focused primarily on 4-ft to 16-ft diameter tunnels in the water and wastewater markets with construction budgets of $10M to $100M. Her tunneling expertise is soft ground and hard rock projects includes:
|
- evaluation and selection of tunnel alignment and design alternatives;
- evaluation of ground conditions and anticipated ground behavior;
- selection of tunnel and shaft excavation and support methods;
- design of mitigation to limit impacts to adjacent structures/facilities;
- design of geotechnical instrumentation programs;
- preparation of Geotechnical Baseline Reports and contract documents;
- construction inspection, management, and claims resolution.
|
|
In addition, Ms. Ganse is experienced in a wide range of geological and geotechnical engineering applications, including rock slope engineering, slope stability analysis, grouting and ground improvement, pipelines, mechanically stabilized earth structures, and groundwater cutoff walls. Ms. Ganse is capable of providing a full range of consulting services with an emphasis on client service, project scoping management, and technical leadership in project design and implementation.
